Latest Obsession

Hello Beauties!

Sorry for being out of touch lately but I've had health scare (all ok now...whew!) and then I went home to see my family (nothing like mom's cooking).

Sooo....I have developed a nail polish addiction.  I bought a few nail polishes, saw a couple of YouTube videos and that's all she wrote.  I really think it got bad when I found the Julep website and became a Julep Maven.  How that works is you take a quiz to find out what your style profile is (Boho Glam, Bombshell, It Girl or Classic With a Twist), then according to your style, colors are chosen for you and shipped once a month but you don't have to stick with your profile colors, you can switch profiles if you want. There is a huge variety of colors and finishes but the best part is the polishes are "4-free" and does not contain formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene or DBP.  Also, the owner and CEO Jane Park has a program called Powered by Girlfriends in that a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of every Julep nail color is donated to organizations that empower women.  How cool is that?!?  That's a legacy to be really proud of.

Now, I have a little bit of everything.  Besides Julep, I have, Essie, OPI, NYC, Maybelline, Wet & Wild, China Glaze and more.

Here are a couple of manicures that I've done.  Now, please remember that I am in no way 'artistic' but I'm trying.

Hello Beauties!

Eye Liners

We all use them.  There are all different kinds of liners, including, kohl pencils, gel liners, liquid liners and eye shadow used as liners.
Today, I’m talking about a liquid liner, specifically Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Eye Liner.  It does exactly what it says in the name:  It Stays All Day.  I put my makeup on at 5:30am and when I get home at 6:30pm, it still looks like it did when I put it on in the morning.

I wasn’t a real fan of liquid eye liners, I’m more of a gel liner fan but then I bought Sephora’s Super Stars Beauty Essentials in which the liner came in the box.  Needless to say, I have not used any other liner since.  The felt tip is thin and flexible which is nice for a liquid liner novice like me (still trying to perfect the cat eye), goes on smooth without skipping and you can make the line as thin or thick as you like.  I like it so much, I purchased two more.  I now have the black, dark brown and moss liners.  Here is what they look like:

Stila Stay All Day Eye Liners in Black, Moss and Dark Brown

They retail for $20 and come in the following colors:

Black, Dark brown, Moss, Periwinkle blue, Turquoise, Snow, Alloy, Indigo

Are they worth $20?  I think so

Will I purchase again?  Absolutely

‘Til next time,

Hello Beauties!

Welcome to my blog! This is my very first post and it will be on something near and dear...LIPGLOSS. I'm going to start with a gloss from Juice Beauty that I received in my May ipsy glam bag. If you are not familiar with ipsy, founded by YouTube guru Michelle Phan, for $10 a month, you get high quality, deluxe samples of beauty products customized to your profile. Check it out, if you have an extra $10 a month, I highly recommend joining.

Juice Beauty is a company that sells 100% organic beauty products. I'm so happy it was included in the ipsy bag because I now have one more pretty lipgloss! It's always nice to try new products from different companies because you never know when you are going to find that "holy grail" item.

The gloss goes on smooth, not sticky (big plus), smells nice and looks so pretty on the lips. The color name is Pink, but it looks more like a grape color. Even the bottle feels nice! Here is what it looks like:

Juice Beauty lipgloss in Pink

Swatch of Juice Beauty in Pink

Isn't it pretty? Yep, I think so.
Would I purchase again? Yes.

So, like I mentioned above, this is my first post on my new blog. You will always have my completely honest opinion on whatever product I'm reviewing and maybe help you find that "holy grail" item we are always looking for.

'Til next time.
